God loves you too much to force you into heaven against your will. – Frank Turek
Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Heaven is not a BRIBE; it is a GIFT.
Answer #1: A Jesus follower enters PARADISE.
The word HEAVEN can mean…
1. The Christian’s dwelling place after death. (Intermediate Heaven)
2. The Christian’s dwelling place forever. (New Earth)
3. God’s presence and dwelling place. (Intermediate Heaven/New Earth)
We will be with God forever but we will not be in the same PLACE forever.
2 Corinthians 5:1-4 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
Answer #2: A Jesus follower receives a new BODY.
Hebrews 9:27-28 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Answer #3: People are judged according to who they TRUST.
Romans 8:30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Answer #4: Everything about us will always be as He always intended for US.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 Therefore, we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
BOTTOM LINE: When I’m CONFIDENT in Christ, I can be COMFORTED by Christ.
