Road Trip Part 3 | South Jordan
1. The Nature of God's Word
-God's word is entirely truthful. (Ps 18:30; John 10:35)
-God's word is eternally relevant. (Isa 40:8; Luke 21:33)
2. Objections to God's Word
-Objections to the books of the Bible
-God superintended both the inspiration of of Scripture and the recognition of his work. (2 Tim 3:16–17; 2 Pet 3:15–16)
-The Christian canon arose through the common recognition among God's people of the prophetic and apostolic word.
-Objections to the words of the Bible
-Copying errors by scribes produce variants in the manuscript tradition.
-More manuscripts = more variants; but more manuscripts = more confidence of the original reading.
-Less than 3 percent of the NT contains a meaningful variant and none of these variants calls into question any Christian doctrine.
