A New Way To Work - West Jordan
THINK ABOUT IT: It’s always a mistake to determine WHAT you want to do before you determine WHO you want to be.
OBSERVATION: Ability without INTEGRITY can be a catastrophe.
Matthew 23:25-26 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.”
Character is the ability to meet the demands of reality. -Henry Cloud
Ephesians 6:5-12 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. 9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
4 Marks of an Employee and Employer with Character:
- RESPECT: I am aware.
- SINCERITY: I am engaged.
- INTEGRITY: I am consistent.
- ACCOUNTABILITY: I am under authority.
GOSPEL TRUTH: Jesus is the only Master that SERVED you to the point of DEATH.
Philippians 2:5-11 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
A PIVOTAL QUESTION: Who do I want to be? SERVANT or MASTER.
