Surge - Senior High
SURGE exists to help students love God, love people and serve the world.
We seek to create an authentic atmosphere where students from any background can discover what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Students experience worship, connection, growth, service and outreach in innovative and interactive ways.
SURGE Meeting Times
Wednesday at 7:00pm @ Draper Campus
*On the 1st Wednesday of most months, we meet at SMCC Draper at 6:00pm and go downtown to
serve at the Rescue Mission. (400 W. 465 S.) Check out the calendar for dates.
LOVE GOD
On Sunday mornings students get together to worship and learn about a loving and lovable God. Using media, music and talks, we deal with everyday issues and topics.
LOVE PEOPLE
On Wednesday nights, students get to "do life" on a deeper level with students from over a dozen different high schools in small groups.
SERVE THE WORLD
A core part of the Christian experience is serving the world starting right here in UT. From leading areas of our weekly ministry, to serving downtown at the Rescue Mission every month, to summer mission trips, we're surrounded by opportunities to serve every day!
FAQS
How do I get involved as a student?
Simple. Just show up on a Sunday morning or Wednesday night. Fill out a student info card and we'll be in contact to help you plug in!
How do I get involved as a parent?
We know that parenting teenagers is the beginning of the delicate art of gradually letting go. There are no easy answers that fit every situation, so we want to partner with you during these years! First, encourage your student to plug in to SURGE and give them the space to connect. Second, stay in contact with SURGE leadership which helps us understand how to connect with your student. Last, we'd love it if you'd help us with some of our events throughout the year in any way you can. We always welcome food, transportation, food, unique resources and food.
Who leads SURGE?
We have a full-time high school pastor on staff. We also have an amazing team of adult leaders who cover a variety of ages, personalities and experiences. Our goal is that each student has a meaningful connection with an adult who loves God, loves people (especially high school students) and serves the world!
Is there a High School Group that meets closer to the west side of the valley?
We're glad you asked because yes there is! We have a great group that meets on Sunday mornings at 10:15am at our SMCC Daybreak Campus (Daybreak Community Center at 4544 West Harvest Moon Dr. South Jordan). The Daybreak group meets with us on the Draper Campus on Wednesday nights for small groups.
