Face the Music
Never Enough | Face the Music Part 2 | St. George
2 Peter 1:3-8
Series Thesis: Every SONG is a SERMON.
Song Thesis: If I can just have ‘IT’ then I would finally be satisfied.
Discontent: I have ‘it,’ but I want more ‘It’.
Disconnected: There is no ‘it’.
Think About It: You’ll never be SATISFIED by seeking satisfaction.
Question: What will truly satisfy US?
Genesis 3:23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
The universe is not our HOME ; it’s more of a HOTEL.
"The Christian is the most contented man in the world, but he is the least contented with the world. He is like a traveler in an inn, perfectly satisfied with the inn and its accommodation, considering it as an inn, but putting quite out of all consideration the idea of making it his home." – Charles Spurgeon
John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
Gospel Truth: Our discontent and our disconnect are solved with DELIGHT in Christ.
2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Jesus has delivered and will deliver on His PROMISES.
2 Peter 1:5-8 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Bottom Line: When Jesus is ENOUGH, enough is enough.
