KEY PASSAGES: Matthew 2:1-16, John 16:20-22
TODAY’S QUESTION: In the Christmas story, who do you identify with most?
THINK ABOUT IT: If you have CONTROL ISSUES you will have CHRISTMAS ISSUES.
BIG IDEA: Jesus’ arrival will RIVAL our need for control.
QUESTION: What’s the difference between those who WORSHIP and those who RESIST at Christmas?
RESISTERS preserve, protect, and control.
WORSHIPPERS submit, give, and enjoy.
REALITY CHECK: The people with the least control have the most JOY.
GOING FORWARD: At some point, your need to control will HURT people.
GOSPEL TRUTH: Because He is in control, we don’t need to be; this leads to JOY.
GOSPEL SHIFT: Joy is a by-product of INVESTING in the joy of others.
