Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Baptism does not save you, but shows the world that you have already been saved. And while baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ.
YOUR NEXT STEPS TO GETTING BAPTIZED AT SMCC
Our goal is to make this process convenient, but not impersonal. Take your time, go at your own pace. One of our pastors will connect with you personally once you've submitted your request to be baptized.
1. Attend an SMCC Baptism Orientation Class OR Follow Steps 2-4.
Prior to every baptism weekend at SMCC we offer baptism classes for children, students and adults.
2. Watch the SMCC Baptism Orientation Video.
Kids Baptism Orientation Video.
3. Read BAPTISM AT SMCC.
4. Fill out the SMCC Baptism Registration Form.
One of our pastors will call you once your form is submitted. That is when you will be able to schedule videotaping your Baptism Testimony.
5. Have Your Baptism Personal Story FILMED.
We encourage this, but don't make it mandatory. We show these stories on the day of baptism. We will also use baptism video testimonies to show others what Christ has done in the lives of people willing to surrender to Him– don’t worry, that’s a good thing! Video appointments will be scheduled at the Baptism Orientation Class or when you submit your Baptism Registration Form.
